Does anyone know the answer? Is she done for the season?

Based on what CNC has said it's a knee injury. It's a "we hope it gets better" situation. Recovery time varies

It was specifically said it was NON season-ending. But that is as much as we know....I think other than it is a knee problem of some sort. Certainly would have made a tremendous difference tonight. Just hope she is back for the NCAAs. The players have worked so hard to have the season not play out without their sister.

Nicki Collen stated that Buggs won't be playing in big 12 tournament on radio.

I would agree. I think we could win it without her barring fatigue issues.......as long as we can get a decent shooting night. The defense the way we are playing now is going to keep any opponent off their game. I would suspect that our 5 seed is probably set now and even winning the tournament won't get us a 4 from the talk I have heard.

Which is smart. The conference tournaments are rather meaningless for teams locked into the tournament

Well k state should be out of hosting now because of their loss today. K state could also lose first game in big 12 tournament so that could help us. Obviously some other results could help baylor host, but I rather control our own destiny than hope for other results.

Thanks everyone. What kind of knee injury is day to day instead season ending? I'm not buying it.

She was walking pretty well on court tonight, so no way it's ACL or anything like that.

Probably something to just give more healing time to build strength. Perhaps similar to Lee's feet (during their game telecast they said that the soreness she experienced in the game before we played them it was in the other foot). She had the boot on the other foot today. They fully expect her back for the NCAAs. Hopefully the same with Buggs.

Still slightly concerned about Buggs injury. I believe we would have beat TCU for B12 regular season championship if she were in the game but can understand resting her and letting depth try and pull it out.

After tonight's game against Iowa State, I believe the only way we can win the tourney is if Buggs is back in the lineup. Want to see CNC win her first B12 championship with the players that she and her staff recruited.

Better chance of wining B12 tourney title and a ring rather than NCAA's with, Buggs in lineup. But, if she is not ready, so be it.....

You and I are on the same page.

Win a title and a ring in a couple days, then let the chips fall where they may in the NCAA's.

Completely disagree on playing Buggs in the B12 tourney.

You build all season for the NCAA. Conference tourney championships are nearly meaningless unless you are a team on the outside of an NCAA tourney at large bid going into the conf tourney.

Heck, you can make the case that a couple extra days of rest (by losing in the conference tourney) at this stage could be much more important that a conference tourney crown with the NCAA around the corner.

I hear what you are saying but there is an additional factor relating to our conference tournament performance this year...We are not on the outside of an at large bid but we are on the cusp of hosting 2 games here in Waco.My guess is that we probably will host if we win tonight but I think we definitely host if we win the tournament.Perhaps KSU falls out of hosting because they lost last night.Obviously we don't want Buggs to play if she isn't ready in order to win a game or the tournament in KC.Lets win this evening without Dariana and get revenge on the Cowgirls.

We do not know what the injury is and what type of healing must occur, and I assume that is your concern The last thing we want to do is rush her return and risk not having her for the NCAA tournament or worse yet damaging her future career.

I think we can win the conference tourney without her if we hit a normal shooting percentage. That has not happened the last two games. It seemed to be back in the first half last night, but then went somewhat south in the 2nd half.

We cannot let "rings" and conference championships of any kind even come close to endangering the long term health of any player. Surely no one here is suggesting there is a conscious decision to not play her if it would be safe to do so. It may not even be up to the coaching staff. I don't think any of these coaches in any of our sports programs have the license to override what our medical staff tells them.

I understand frustration with some of our team goals (and fan wants) this year not being able to be achieved because of injuries. But lots of teams suffer the same thing. And we, nor the coaches, nor the players can do anything about that other than to go to battle with what we have..

No one is suggesting to play someone who is not medically cleared.

I think the issue a lot of folks have (myself included) is the idea that the conference tournament does not matter. And that is the farthest thing from the truth (especially this year).

As Task Force 2015 mentioned above, you are essentially playing for homecourt advantage at this point, which then gives you a much better chance of advancing in the NCAA's and making the Sweet 16 (although there are no guarantees).

If we win our next 2 games, we'll all but be assured of hosting, and securing a tournament title would also give us some momentum this year and in the future. So we should not be approaching the conference tournament in a "ho hum" manner, as we lost the chance to do so when we didn't secure the regular season title on Sunday.

Had we beaten TCU, then we'd be playing with house money at this point, as I think our resume would have been good enough to host. But that didn't happen, so now we need to approach these next 2 games as 'must wins.'

Because if we don't, and lose either today or in the title game, then we stand a good chance of getting sent on the road and trying to overcome someone else's homecourt advantage.

We were fortunate last year, as we faced a VA Tech team without their best player (Kitley). But I'd prefer not to go down the "#5 Seed or Lower" path again, because we might draw a much more difficult opponent this time around.

Baylor's 2-5 in Q1 games. The chances of hosting are rather slim. We have people on here treating the conference tournaments as of more importance than the NCAAS. The committee has shown for years now that they don't place a ton of value on these post season tournaments as far as moving teams around seed lines.

And if we weren't running neck and neck with a slew of other teams for the coveted #4 seeds, then you would be correct.

Winning the conference title (and especially if we were to beat TCU to do so), would likely give us the edge over some of these other teams we're competing against.

Outside of the OSU game, we haven't looked terribly bad in our losses.

We're a #5 seed now. And are basically in a race to see who replaces K-State as host.

It would be hard to deny us a #4 seed over the other #5 seeds (Maryland, Bama and Tennessee) - All of whom just took bad losses in their conference tourneys.

If we win the conference tourney, we host. It's that simple.

I'll just assume you're on the committee since you guaranteed we host. I'll hold you to that

That's ONLY if we win the conference tourney.

If we show up to today's game and play like we did yesterday against ISU, then this all might be moot.

I'm speculating but I think she will be. With a good performance tomorrow we will host the first two games against teams we should be able to beat (although a 1 or 2 seed would be better). That will be a great chance for Buggs to work out the rust, cobwebs, or whatever term you prefer. If I'm correct, and I really hope I am, it would be great coaching.

DLB was very active and looked very much like the "Ol Buggs" on the bench tonight vs OSU. Jumping up and down cheering on her teammates, hugging them, chest bumping them encouraging them as they came off the floor, giving pointers to Jennings, consoling Bella and leaping out of her seat with her hands showing 3 fingers in OT when the 3 balls were raining on OSU. I was scared and happy at the same time - "Oh God I murmured, please don't let her reinjure her knee in her enthusiasm for her teammates"
You have to admire how her teammates have gritted and preserved through so much adversity. while she rehabbed. Her injury may turn out to be a silver lining after all. It should be a fun NCAA Tournament for BU fans and Team !
