I agree on the "hidden blessing" aspect of Buggs' absence. I will not be as anxious in the tourney if Kyla or Jennings has to play significant minutes as I would have been if we hadn't seen their growth over the past few games.Dcheetah said:
I worry that you are right but Nette has been getting much better vs real bigs and we will have to see what adding DLB will do. Certainly she will help a lot with rebounding and getting us a few easy points we haven't been getting and help our D vs bigger players. I think it has been a bit of a blessing letting our backups get real game time and experience and confidence in high pressure situations. Matchups are a major factor in moving forward though so hope you are right.
I remember a FF we may have missed out on in 20-21 because our backups did not get quality minutes against pressure during the season and in that case it wasn't because of injuries during the season. They were not ready when they were needed. The only player on the roster that worries me is Nelms, primarily because she is prone to moving screen charges and taking 3 point shots because the opponents let her. That is not why she was put in the game. I guess it is freshmen "itis".ctxbear said:I agree on the "hidden blessing" aspect of Buggs' absence.
