UCLA #1 overall? I'd still probably sell

What the hell are we doing in UCLA's bracket? So much for not setting up rematches

And we get Molly Miller then Ole Miss, who never deserved to host despite what Creme kept trumpeting.

LSU on the other side of the regional as the 3, NCSt as the 2.

Hopefully Molly Miller distracted on whether to take Arkansas or Missouri job .

Call me CRAZY but I actually like our draw.

I said in another thread that Florida St is a sleeper. They're a bigger threat to LSU going deep than Nc St is

BU not reaching the S16 would be very disappointing

I'm not upset with the draw - time to prepare and get to it. We should win the first two round games based on talent alone. Hopefully we come out ready to prove our rank.

Oregon State gets dropped from the P4 universe and falls to a 14 seed befitting a minor midmajor.

Duke and UNC in line for a Sweet 16 matchup.

Ole Miss is no slouch. I watched them beat LSU in Baton Rouge. They have scorers.

Yet LSU didn't have Flaujee Johnson

Iowa St as one of the last 4 in.

TCU the 2 seed with Notre Dame the 3, UT the 1, Ohio St the 4 and Tennessee the 5.

Second round Hailey Van Lith gets to face Louisville.

Duke is pretty good this year too.

KSt and OkSt will end up in region with USC 1, UConn 2, OU 3 and Kentucky 4 most likely.

SEC teams getting in, but not nearly as many hosting as predicted. Several unexpected 5 seeds and a 3 for LSU. SC not getting #1 overall.

Okie Lite beats good teams. If they were matched against a team the quality of UH or BYU they should be worried.

Okie lite is going to get ran by UConn. That's if they survive the rd of 64

Yes it will. We should advance and beat Grand Canyon and Ole Miss. I am very happy we avoided Tennessee. They would be a more difficult match up.

It was interesting to hear the committee chair say that one criteria they considered was the closeness of losses. Perhaps those one-possession loses to TCU were the difference that is allowing us to host despite our small number of Quad-1 wins.

Yeah I don't trust them at all. I don't think they would lose to SD State, but they lost to Houston lol so anything is possible. UConn is a horrible matchup for them.

I wouldn't sleep on Ole Miss.. they are incredibly physical, and it'll take all we've got on the boards to limit them to a single shot. We've got the advantages in the right areas but it will be tough.

One game at a time.

We gotta take care of Grand Canyon first, and apparently, they are no slouch.

They're 32-2, and have wins over Arizona State and Arizona.

One of their two losses was against Oregon (whom we also lost to).

So on paper, at least, they don't appear to be your typical sacrificial lamb.

One thing's for certain: We're about to find out, up close and personal, whether all this Molly Miller hype was legit.

Baylor's going to roll. The gap in the woman's game between these top seeds and the double digit seeds is massive. And we see that play out yearly. This game won't tell us whether Miller can coach. I think it's pretty clear by now that she can. And that'll remain true even when Baylor wins by 25

I hope you're right.

Cuz if we don't make it past Grand Canyon, I don't even want to imagine what Sic'em 365 would look like afterwards.

Basketball is an odd game. An underdog starts hitting 3s, the gods sew your basket shut, and all of a sudden despite your superior athleticism, you are in a dog fight with a group that plays as a team to form something much better than their individual talents. A "system" takes away your self-perceived advantages and foul trouble sits your bigger players for the first three quarters because coach fouls out her own players by sitting them on the bench for most of the game. I've read this book before and don't like the ending. We have to play well and smart, no stupid fouls, hit free throws, to win these first two games. I'll be the first to celebrate if we run away with these first two games, but I'm not counting chickens until they hatch. Need Buggs to play with confidence and freedom, and that is hard to do while still rehabbing

And yes Molly CAN coach, no debating that given her tract record. And how much more $ could she demand if she comes to Waco and steals a close win?

Your first few sentences are things many "experts" here cannot understand or want to ignore. A superior team can lose games in basketball when these things line up. It doesn't mean the coach is bad, the decisions are bad, the players "didn't show up" or were not ready to play. It doesn't change the real underlying foundation or the team or program, but it certainly leads to massive disappointments. And I think puts a lot of pressure on a team to not end up in that trap. It happened to the Bears in 2022. South Dakota came out hitting anything across the mid-court line, guarded or not and that was it.

When I was in high school our team was ranked #1 in the state of Texas in AAA (when the UIL only went up to AAAA). We had two of the 5 all-state players on our team. We went to Dallas on a snowy night to play a team from east Texas that was on paper greatly inferior to our team. We couldn't hit the ocean with our shots. The other team shot the games of their life. A team that had walked over everyone during the season plus won a non-district game at the end of the season over the team that eventually won the AAAA championship went home in the snow to clear out their lockers.

It happens in basketball for more than any other team sport I know, and a lot of it has to do with players missing parts of the game because of fouls. In other sports you have to do something egregious to get kicked out of the game. It's not like football where you can just out muscle the other team when the passes are off. But losing a game like that is a great opportunity for the experts who have had to keep their traps shut all season to be able to come out and tell you what you did wrong, how you didn't care, or some other inane garbage that tells more about the poster than the people they are trying to roast.

Agree 100% blackie. It can and does happen in sports . These "fan experts" here and elsewhere who are actually clueless about the game they are pontificating about wear me out.

baylor deserved the host seed. iowa state having a play-in doesn't seem fair. tcu has a pretty easy road in the easiest region with texas atop. wvu and oSu are in tough spots. i like ours in the uk region. yoki lee is back. going to be fun.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if TCU fails to make the Sweet 16. They've lost some head scratchers this season and if Prince gets into foul trouble, the team will be required to hit from the outside. Will be a fun tournament. While I expect it to go mostly chalk, a lot of close games that will be decided by a few possessions.

i don't know. the frogs have a solid three point game and prince is an issue for any team - playing center like a small forward. frankly, i was most impressed with how they handled baylor this year. tcu/texas would be a hoot.

TCU has no shot against ND. Remember I said that. ND will abuse HVl and Conner the entire game. ND is winning that region

Very possible, but TCU already beat ND by 8 earlier this year.
