I don't want to turn this into the Politics & Religion board, but any chance recent actions by the current administration might affect Deng?

Haven't been keeping up. Her leaving Auburn coming to BU, is it an NIL issue, coaching/personnel issue, culture, game strategy, starting, etc. It's always a curious question on my part if there doesn't seem to be a surfaced issue?

I think foreign plays are able to get NIL from their home country.

She can have NIL's from her home country and any other foreign country, just not in the US due to F1 Visa. Congress/Senate have not passed any laws that changes this. It's US Immigration laws, not Ncaa rules. She could make $$ for her tshirts/jerseys at Baylor.

This was my understanding, as well, but AP posted an article on NIL ruining European leagues because, if I understand it correctly, Euroleagues get money when NBA drafts their players, as the league has to buy their contracts, and that money helps support the Euroteams's budgets. But the article seems to imply that now, the massive NIL deals being offered (at least to the men), are incentivizing the European players to bypass the elite level leagues in favor of playing in US for NIL $$, thus negatively impacting overseas team's budgets.

I was truly confused, as I believe your above statement is correct. Did you (or anyone else) read the article and catch something I missed or can explain how both things can be true? The older I get, the more I sometimes miss….

Top schools simply set up an offshore NIL payer. The earnings are not made in the USA, not paid in the USA, and are tied to activities outside the USA. Problem solved.

Thank you for the explanation. Is this currently happening with the women, or just anticipated that they will move into this space, as well. I was hopeful BU might be competitive with acquiring overseas players because there would not be a NIL bidding war. Just fantasy…?
