Just saw Coach Leverton got hired as MCC's new head coach, and I've got to sayI didn't have "strategic self-sabotage" on my bingo card today. After orchestrating back-to-back seasons of bullpen blowouts at Baylor, you'd think the rsum would've been filed under "Do Not Disturb." I mean, comparing his tenure to what Coach Snedeker pulled off in one year? It's like going from a buick to a cadillac. Night and day doesn't even cut itmore like candlelight to stadium lights.

So, unless MCC's plan is to win games by confusing the opposition with wild pitches and thrown away pick-offs, I'm scratching my head. If anyone's got insight into this apparent baseball seppuku, I'm all ears.

He was highly successful under Thompy at MCC. In fact, he seemingly was so integral to Mitch's success at MCC, he pretty much went straight to Lev right away for his first hire after being named skipper at Baylor. I've heard different accounts as to why Lev didn't work out here but nevertheless, Sned IS the guy and was a slam dunk.

Strange hire but I guess the AD at MCC was familiar with Leverton and it was a safe hire.
