Good question. At least during the dark days of the late 90's through the early '00's Steve Smith for the most part had the baseball program up and running and currently we don't even have that.

Why? Doug is one of the few people who actually has the power to change these things and chooses not to. His idea of change is running a promo for $4 pretzels at the stadium next fall.

He is like the worst versions of managers at failing companies where morale is low, raises have been frozen for multiple years, staffing cuts/layoffs/shortages are leading to overworking and overwhelming the remaining staff and in management in its most out-of-touch mindset decide that the way to bring back morale and buy-in is a corporate pizza party.

Doug had nothing to do with our terrible (extended) coaching contracts. He needs donor money and loads of it. Mack set us back for years.

Mack isn't here, Doug is. Mack should've fired some coaches but didn't. Doug should've fired some coaches, but hasn't. Instead Doug, like Mack, has granted Aranda yet another extension.

Doug sucks and does all the same things Mack has.

The challenge is that BMDs frequently evidence wisdom, one of whose basic tenets is "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
