Time for a coaching shakeup and replace Dillon.
Hitting is well under Conference standards.

Although hard to see, there has been some improvement since 1st of the year. However, today's player is all about themselves. Guys are too worried about exit velocity and launch angle and all the other BS.

Can't call for anybody's job, but in order to invoke discipline within players, the coaching staff either has to have depth or equity with fan base.

Striking out 18-20 times a game is ridiculous. One of the worst team batting averages in the Conference. Improvements have been made in the pitching coaching. Time to ditch Mitch's former player and get a disciplined hitting coach.

In addition to in general having a weak hitting lineup that usually struggles to hit average or better P4 level pitching, we also must have one of the worst groups of undisciplined hitters in D1 baseball. A ridiculous number of times our guys strike out on balls in the dirt or otherwise balls that are nowhere near the strike zone. The top of the 8th inning in game 2 of the ASU series was a great example. We get the first two batters on with our two best hitters coming up. Janusek proceeds to strike out on a ball that was outside in the dirt, followed by Armstrong who strikes out on a ball that was about a foot outside. And this kind of thing has been going on all season. If we actually care about baseball, we don't just need a new hitting coach - we need a head coach that can actually recruit more than a few players who are capable of successfully hitting in a conference like the Big 12.

Magnolia money is 100% behind Mitch Thompson. Unless a Cody Campbell type doner steps to the plate, he is as safe as Scott Drew. Major renovations start this summer. Baseball will finally get some love. Mitch will get his chance.

Even if true, how many "chances" is Thompson supposed to get to at least show some kind of significant progress - like at least getting his team to a regional? I realize he inherited a complete dumpster fire when he started, but he's four years into this thing now and to date the improvement has been pretty minimal at best.

When you're starting 4-5 Freshmen there are a ton of growing pains.
His facilities haven't been updated in years.
AD's have *******ized baseball for 20 years.
Give Mitch the upgraded facilities, then hammer him for shortcomings.
