?

Because he addressed affordability?

It was OK but it seemed rushed to me. I would have liked it better if he had slowed down and taken another minute or 2 to let some of his points sink in.

Why give the speech? Why rush this onto the air?

Besides the constant blaming everyone else, which never plays well. It does not make sense IF everything was rosy.

What was in it, it was standard Trump fare.

I see what you are getting at. Yes, I suppose this was done as the dems (and their media allies) were winning the messaging war on "affordability" Trump team didn't help themselves by acting like high prices don't still exist.

Its an effort to shift the blame back where it belongs. He mentioned more help on the way as far as prices (we will see). And also to announce the $1776 for the military.

Joe Biden oversaw the highest inflation in American history and Obamacare is a complete disaster - but affordability is Republicans' fault. We live in an unserious country.

Joe Biden's performance and the State of the Nation cost his Party the election, rightly so.

We are 1 year in to Trump's Administration, he is being held accountable for the conditions we are experiencing, rightly so.

He has 3 years to fix it, if he does his successor will benefit. If not, Dems will benefit. That is the nature of representative Democracies. You don't get to blame others as POTUS, the Buck stops at his desk.

I remember back in 1992/ 1993 the economy was struggling. President George W. Bush assured us the economy was improving but the people were skeptical. A little known fellow from Arkansas named Bill Clinton won the election beating out the incumbent, Bush. Bush was right and the economy did start improving almost immediately. The only difference is that Clinton did not take office and immediately start a trade war with the whole world (which includes our longtime allies.)

We have less than 4 1/2 percent of the world's population. When it comes to the economy and international trade, at some point Trump needs to realize the world will move on without us. We shall see.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

we have the bulk of the innovation and the legal environment to protect said innovation and the capital markets to fund those innovators.

Families are about to get together for Christmas. Lots of political topics will be discussed so here is the good news to offset the typical media smear.

I like the $1776 dollars to military personnel.

Most people believe "lowered inflation" means prices have declined. No, it means prices are rising at a slower rate.

2022 had sky high inflation (over 9%). Historically, inflation runs between 2% & 3%. Prices (as measured by inflation data) have not come down. They have, in fact, increased on top of Bidenflation.

Trump is correct in claiming inflation has come down. He, like too many wealthy elites, don't understand prices are actually higher than after Biden's disastrous 2022 inflation.

Wealthy don't notice. Middle and lower class wonder when prices will go back to pre-2022 and pre-COVID.

Lower prices would likely mean wage cuts and layoffs. That won't help them either.

Dems have the media's backing to falsely claim affordability is on Trump. It was the Dems (with some help from some Republicans) reckless spending.

The 1776 was military housing money repurposed.

Gasoline is approximately $ 2.15 a gallon here.
We are unable to raise rents due to a softer demand.

However food is still high and eating out is crazy expensive.
