Not that anyone is surprised, but left-wing radicals in a small Montana town are so triggered by diversity and their inability to tolerate it they tried to shut down a movie production by The Daily Wire.

The disconnect between reality and left-wing fantasy world continues to amaze. I guess supporting artistic expression and tolerating diversity is limited to "agrees with me."

It has been that way for at least 10-15 years. They love diversity, free speech, inclusion, etc. except when it is people they disagree with. Then they need their safe space because the "micro-aggression" have triggered them and they need a day off of work or school to "mentally" deal with the trauma.

What kind of fairytale are these people living in?

The article suggests that the concerns were over safety and disruption, rather than content. Park County, Montana, is a lean-GOP county that has had a Trump majority in the last three elections. The local officeholders are almost certainly majority GOP, if not all GOP.

If you believe that you probably believe the Russia Hoax was real, Hunter Biden's laptop was fake, Juicy Smalls was attacked, Michael Brown said "hands up, don't shoot," Joe Biden was the smartest man in D.C. in 2024, Kyle Rittenhouse killed three unarmed black men, Austin Metcalf bullied Karmelo Anthony, seven Cornell students raped a girl, etc.

It's not germane. You're trying to distract by making the correlation that a 50-50 county would mean it would not have left-wing radicals who would attempt to shut down the arts.

If you know the political affiliation of the city commission feel free to post - you're making the assertion; but again, it is not germane. The fact it reacted to the "heckler's veto" is not disputed.

The question is why do radical leftists hate the arts and diversity. Why can they not handle diversity?

First, here is an update: the commission revere itself, and the film will finish shooting. https://www.wral.com/news/ap/1465c-livingston-officials-allow-pawn-shop-film-to-continue-in-montana/

Second, I did not say that a 55-45 county would not have people with opposing viewpoints. My point was that the governing body of such a county would be highly unlikely to shut down a movie based on content, hopefully either way.

Third, there seems to be ample evidence that the producers did little to cooperate with the people and businesses they were affecting.

Fourth, your question is so loaded that it is stupid. Liberals do not hate the arts or diversity. Many people of every political/cultural stripe hate being inconvenienced by filme crews. (https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/residents-very-very-angry-with-neighborhood-filming/56734/). Making a piece of schlock like this (shame on you Harvey Keitel) heightens that frustration. But you are the one who has no evidence that the complaints or any of the commission's decision-making around the stop were based on content rather than frustration about procedure.

That is some remarkable spin. I am surprised it's coming from you. Although we don't often agree politically, I've found you to be an intellectually honest poster.

But this post suggests otherwise.

Maybe I should have said "The article suggests that the concerns that caused the suspension in filming were over safety and disruption."

I am not disputing that some community members did not like the idea of a film with that content being filmed in their city. But the government shut it down (temporarily) based on reasons other than content.

Correct. Not sure why this was so confusing for you to follow. A bunch or art-hating, diversity-fearing left-wing extremists threw a fit about a movie being filmed because they did not like the content. Why is it only the left that seems to hate diversity and will not just "live and let live." No one is making them pay to go see the movie. But why do they feel like we should have mob violence dictate what type of art gets made? The only reason the city relented was because of a threat of a lawsuit, which at least it was smart enough to know it would not win.
