1. I realize this is a fruitless exercise
2. I realize we have beaten this topic to death in different ways
That being said, genuinely curious for someone to lay out an affirmative case for massive immigration both from H1-B visa holders and illegal migrants.
Does the value of legal and illegal immigration outweigh their negative impact? I do appreciate receiving the world's best and brightest like Musk and others and really being the global place for innovation, but we pay a lot of externalities to be able to claim ~100 geniuses as Americans.
Immigration exacerbates many of the problems on Americans' minds today:
1. It makes everything more expensive
2. It drives exponential costs to taxpayers
3. It is culturally destructive
4. It increases violence and urban blight
I am sure someone smarter than me can really lay out a great case for it ... would love to ponder it.
