They'll always be a few stragglers like cinque who cling to any last thread of hope and that's okay it's just how he chooses to spend his life.

For Trump, he just needs to keep doing what he's doing because while dems were waiting on Mueller to save the day Trump was busy appointing lifetime conservative judges including 2 in the Supreme Court, a much needed wall in under construction, better trade deals, stronger economy and overall optimism.

Here is what is next. The Dems are going to do everything in their power to reelect an incumbent President who is so beatable. First they are going to beat a dead horse of Russia Collusion based on a fabricated Dossier (which is the real scandal BTW) in Congressional hearings. Look libs, I get it. Trump is a POS and has probably done many things in his personal and private life that is illegal and certainly immoral. However, this collusion stuff is made up by Christopher Steele and Dem operatives. The only people in America who care about this now are fellow libs who are not going to support Trump no matter what. The Dems overplayed their hand more than the GOP did with Slick Willie in the 90s. Trump is going to look sympathetic to the rather small group of undecided voters in 2020 before it is all said and done. And if they purify their ranks with all of these Socialist/Marxist stances that candidates are having to take in the primaries (reparations, green new deal, single payer), they will actually nominate a candidate that centrists fear more than Trump.

Just my personal observations and certainly not scientific, but most Never Trump GOP voters I know from 2016 are at least considering Trump in 2020 because of how scared they are of candidates like Crazy Bernie. To a man or woman, they still 100% believe that Trump is a POS and a lousy human being but they realize that he has and would do less damage to the country than the Dems. And every fervent Trump supporter I knew in 2016 would walk through glass bare footed for 5 miles to cast their vote for him. I do not know 1 person who voted for Trump in 2016 who has told me that they would not vote for him again.

From Mueller...

"The conclusion that Congress may apply obstruction laws to the President's corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law."

This, in my view, with be the focus of Dem. investigation for the remainder of the year.

For those still calling this an exoneration, I invite you to read the report. It is a roadmap for impeachment.

Democrats would be stupid to impeach. I hope they try.

And Mueller's open ended statement is highly questionable and very unusual. You either have evidence to prosecute or you don't. The investigation is not to clear anyone of anything, it's to make a charge and Mueller failed.

Mueller was following the Justice guidelines that you can't indict a sitting President. The only avenue to deal with criminal behavior from POTUS is impeachment. I also am uncertain Dems should proceed with it. I think what they will consider is a long deliberate, public hearings on the subject, interviewing the key players. It is the Watergate hearings that eventually convinced most Americans to Nixon's guilt.

Problem with the whole impeachment as a substitute for indictment: impeachment is largely a political action. Andrew Johnson was impeached for his defiance of an act of Congress that was proved unconstitutional. He was saved from removal from office by one vote, largely because the next man in line was (there was no vp after lincoln's assasination) was even worse for the Republicans. Remember there is absolutely no way Trump will be removed by 2/3rds of the Senate which is controlled by Republicans. Why would Dems. go that far? If their base pushes them that far.
If it were me advising them: I would say take your sweet time with open hearings, hearing all the witnesses, bring on Mueller to speak. Then.. announce that it would be improper to vote on actual impeachment within one year of the Presidential election and postpone the vote till after Nov. 2020.

All a threat like that would do is fire up and unite the republicans leading into the election.

Hope Dems in the House vote for impeachment.

Stands absolutely zero chance of conviction in the Senate....but such foolishness would guarantee Trump's re election .

Please let this be true. For those that think she is not telling the truth. She should get a Pulitzer for the reporting she's done the last 2 years. She's been out in front of this fake collusion story and right on just about everything for 2 years. I have no reason to believe she is wrong here.

Impeach and attempt to overturn the will of the country on obstruction in the absence of any underlying crime? Whatever happened to all that collusion and treason stuff? How about working to actually VOTE a Trump out of office.
