The Opening: Day 2
This event is so stacked with talent. Grayson and I left after getting video interviews with Jaylen Ellis, Genson Hooper, and Tykee Smith to get dinner. We came back and talked to Brenda Tracy for a solid 3 hours and missed the rest of the event.Just kidding. We talked with Jason Howell, Ryan Braunnigner, Bud Elliott, and more about the event and we enjoyed it, but some of the fluff is getting over the top. This event is well run at The Star, but there are no refreshments available for anyone, but the players. I figured Jerry would have the beer and hot dogs flowing since he bought the event and moved it to Frisco, but there wasn't anything open. The day consisted of testing and Ellis said he went in the 4.5s, Hooper went 4.46 and ran the 40 at least 5 times while everyone else went twice. The surface is slow at The Star and I won't be shocked to see some scratched times. The OU class of Austin Stogner, Trejan Bridges, Theo Wease, Arjei Henderson and Spencer Rattler all hang out together and nobody else really gets around them. The trio of Eliis, Garrett Wilson, and Elijah Higgins all hang out together. Genson Hooper is a bit of a loner without anyone to hang with. He also wasn't aggressive in getting reps early and got shuffled back and missed reps because of it. That changed later and he got more reps than others. Stacey Wilkins is a stud, but there are so many studs on the OL he was running 3rd team. The OL and DL were ridiculous, but not many from Texas are the studs. It was Louisiana and Mississippi groups with the most size and snap off the DL. OL has just massive kids. OL and DL are wearing helmets, which is nice to see. Ellis had some great catches. He is so quick in space, but not truly 40 meter fast. He's had bad 40s at camps, but nobody covers him. He's also grown and was over six foot tall now. He'll be a great slot receiver if his speed doesn't improve.Tykee Smith is high on Baylor. I mean committable high. He'll be on campus in late July and I'd put him on commit alert if things go well.Smith has quick feet. Someone asked if he could play corner and that is a possibility. He's thick and wide framed for a 5-11 185 prospect. He broke well on the ball and made some amazing one handed catches during drills to high point the ball. He's also a bit raw in his body build as he could grow while on a nutrition program he likely is not receiving now.

Major 2019 Target Visiting Saturday
Austin Stogner (Prestonwood Christian Academy) will be on campus. He's liking what the offense is looking like with tight ends usage. Joey McGuire is is lead recruiter and would also be his position coach.Stogner is a stud and has Baylor lineage all over his family. It is doubtful he would come to BU with the old offense, but the new offense has caught his attention.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
