A few Friday house cleaning notes...
- DB Kam Scott (Manvel) has some summer work to take care of but my money is still on him being a Bear at the end of the day. The pause in his decision is not one of his own. He was recently named a 4-star on ESPN.- LB Brian Johnson (Manvel) will take a visit to Texas A&M next week with Baylor still in the lead. That could be the moment in his recruitment one way or another. - Some folks close to the sitution feel that OL Trey Stratford (Allen) is close to pulling the trigger for Baylor. I don't know that it happens this weekend, but he will be on campus with his parents. - Baylor RS Freshman Will Jones has transitioned to the OL. This happened after spring ball but we weren't able to get 100% confirmation until yesterday. - It's pretty obvious on Twitter, but official visitor Willie Allen (LSU) is getting a lot of attention from Baylor players and commits. I haven't had any feedback on his visit to UCLA at this time. I'll see if I can get anything on his Baylor visit, but probably won't be until Sunday.- 2019 Four-star DE Hunter Spears (Sachse) will be at camp on Sunday per Damon.

Brian Johnson & Kam Scott update
As I posted yesterday, Manvel prospects Brian Johnson and Kam Scott will be on Baylor's campus today for an unofficial visit. The spring evaluation period is over so all of the staff will be on campus for these two guys coming in. Prior to last night, I fully expected both of these guys to commit to Baylor. If you recall, the both recently put out tweets that their commitments were coming soon. That was in reference to Baylor and thus my predictions went in for both of them. But, as you are aware, Johnson picked up an offer from Texas A&M last night. https://twitter.com/brianojohnson/status/870083001945698304The two also picked up offers from Illinois, but this is the one that made me hesitate a bit. I did some digging this morning outside of my Baylor contacts and, while there was some speculation through Crystal Balls and whatnot, nothing was definite that Johnson would be locked into A&M as it was presumed. From there, I went back to the Baylor contact list to get a feel of the expectations. Obviously the visit is still on for today and the two will make their way to Waco this morning from Manvel along with Johnson's entire family. The biggest piece of information I received here is that nothing is to have expected to change with Johnson and Baylor after the A&M offer. This is obviously before he arrives on campus, but Baylor still feels as though they are in a very good spot. My understanding is that Johnson and Scott are set on Baylor, but today's visit will confirm it one way or another.

Two visitors tomorrow
LB Brian Johnson and DB Kam Scott of Manvel will both be on campus tomorrow visiting Baylor. If you recall, I posted about this last week. The dates are obviously finalized now and both of my predictions are in.

Update on 2018 National Averages for Commits
I finished updating Baylor's 2018 class in our database a few minutes ago. Here is where all 13 of the players should stand on a national average which does not include SicEm365.Josh Fleeks - 90.7Stanley Hackett - 88.4 (ESPN recently took him from unranked to a 75 which brought his average down).Joshua Landry - 87.1Kalon Barnes - 86.8Jackson Kimble - 85.9 (This includes 247Sports rating of an 81. I'd expect that to go up.Christian Morgan - 85.8Casey Phillips - 84.6 (This includes Rivals rating of 5.4 2-star. I'd expect that to go up.)JT Woods - 84.6 Ylijaah Hall - 84.5Jackson Gleeson - 84.4JT Woods - 84.1Delarrin Turner-Yell - 83.8 (ESPN recently placed him at an 72 from unranked)Tyquan Thornton - 82.6 (Scout recently updated him as a 2-star from unranked)Really surprised that DTY was that lows on ESPN. The 72 places him as Baylor's lowest rated recruit in the class according to ESPN.

5.24 Housecleaning Notes
With Jalen Mayden off the board to Mississippi State, Baylor's realistic QB offer pool is down to two with Midway's Tanner Mordecai and Gerry Bohanon of Arkansas. I don't see it as panic time yet, but there's always reason to add another name to the list if and when it is time to panic. The name that I'm looking at is Jace Ruder out of Kansas. He has recently been in touch with Baylor QB coach and co-OC Glenn Thomas and happens to be a close family friend of Baylor GA Kirk Bryant. Ruder holds notable offers from North Carolina, Florida State, Kansas State, Iowa, and Indiana. I asked Ruder about his potential interest in Baylor if they were to offer, and he said Baylor would potentially be a school he would be interested in.My initial thought is that staying in the Big 12 is appealing to him, but playing in the KSU offense or playing at Kansas might not be a priority. A Baylor offer could put the bears in the mix immediately. Linebacker Joseph Ogunbanjo had a visit from the Baylor staff on Monday, the first since he was offered a couple of weeks ago. Fran Brown and Mike Siravo both made a stop by Alief Taylor. There is definitely chemistry here between the two parties and JO made it clear that he would definitely be working on setting up a visit date for the summer. He also said that the early faith Baylor showed in him is still on his mind. Since being offered by Baylor on May, JO has seen 13 additional offers role in including from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Houston, Indiana, and Texas Tech, while Texas and Texas A&M are both evaluating him closely. Manvel prospects and Baylor offers Brian Johnson and Kam Scott are both expected to be on Baylor's campus sometime in the next two weeks. Remember, Baylor has moved Scott's offer from WR to DB and Scott is open to the idea. I spoke with Florida DE Kayode Oladele for the first time since Baylor offered on Tuesday. Basic conversation for the most part, but Oladele confirmed with me he plans to make an unofficial visit to Baylor this summer. He has been in contact mainly with Evan Cooper and classified his interest in Baylor as an 8/10. This coupled with some additional intel and I can tell you Baylor definitely has a chance with the former Florida State pledge. They need to get him on campus to see what the staff and program is all about, but his level of interest is extremely high without ever setting foot on campus.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
