Career Stats

6’0, 170

White is extremely athletic much like most of the commits in this 2019 class. He was timed as a 4.33 at and Oklahoma State camp by hand time so I think he is solidly in the low 4.4s consistently. That kind of speed allows him to do a lot of things on the football field and play multiple positions. I saw him at camp and went to one of his games this year. His speed translated onto the football field when he got the chance. The game I saw he only caught a couple short passes but on defense he chased down running backs multiple times and was able to break up some passes as well at the safety position. At camp he showed the impressive speed at wide receiver blowing by defensive backs regularly, he also jumped over a a DB for a grab showing off his leaping ability.

White does not play with a ton of physicality and I did no like that aspect of his game. He played safety at Tascosa and he played very timid at the game I was at. Never got downhill on ball carriers and didn’t play as fast as he is. On the offensive side he did not receive the ball much at all because of Tascosa’s style of play. They ran it a ton and it was pretty much triple option based. Because of that he does not get into the open field as much as I would like to see for his speed to really take over. He also had a couple drops in the game I saw and on a potential interception. So I am not sure if his hands are great which is another reason corner seems like a fit.

How I see him fitting in at Baylor

I think White is a cornerback all the way. He will take some time to develop. I think by year three he will be getting some meaningful minutes. If his athleticism translates to that position and he gets a good feel for the technique then he has a chance to be a really solid player in the secondary. He has a high ceiling due to his size and speed, very good combination.

SicEm365 Rating

Rating Explained

Very good athleticism with a decent offer list gives him a solid three-star ranking. His lack of production in high school and the fact that he has never played the position he is projected at (CB) makes it very difficult to go any higher but there is a lot of potential here.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

SicEm365 Rating

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
