36 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #36 Tyrone Brown
As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!
Tyrone Brown is a redshirt-freshman linebacker from Orange, Texas. He will have three years of eligibility remaining past this season, and Baylor’s website has him listed at 6-foot-0, 225 pounds. While at BU, Brown is majoring in health, kinesiology, and leisure studies and made the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2021.
Grayson Gruendhoefer and Travis Roeder are both extremely high on Tyrone Brown but think he’ll continue to develop in 2022. Especially considering he will be behind an All-American caliber MLB in Dillon Doyle.
Brown starred at West Orange-Stark High School and helped lead his team to an 8-1 record as a senior in 2020. He recorded 122 tackles, 11 TFLs, five sacks, and five forced fumbles in his senior season alone. He was the 2020 District 11-4A Defensive MVP and was ESPN’s No. 25 inside linebacker nationally. He was a three-star prospect, according to 247, and he was one of two linebacker commits who chose Baylor in the class of 2021. He made his collegiate debut against Texas Southern, but Brown redshirted the season and did not appear in another game for the Bears.
