Baylor Is Bringing in Elite Competition with Transfer QB Sawyer Robertson

At the turn of the new year, Baylor’s coaching staff had some work to do. After Gerry Bohanon left post-Spring 2022, Baylor elected to not take an additional scholarship QB, leaving them with two: Blake Shapen and Kyron Drones.

Ideally, they would’ve liked to go into Spring 2023 with three quarterbacks: 4th year Blake Shapen, 3rd year Kyron Drones, and 1st year Austin Novosad. We know what happened next. Novosad flipped to Oregon, while Drones left and landed at Virginia Tech.
