Next Level BU: NFL Preseason Week 1

Broken down by year each player left Baylor either by graduating or leaving for the NFL early.

2016
KD Cannon, WR — Los Angeles Rams
Signed with Rams in August (third team he’s signed with since going undrafted). Went without a target against Cowboys after having some impressive plays in his first week of practice. Team traded for WR1 Sammy Watkins, making a WR roster spot even more difficult.

Aiavion Edwards, LB — Los Angeles Chargers
Last update was Edwards signing with Chargers but has been incognito since. Hope for practice squad at best.

Kyle Fuller, G — Houston Texans
Competing for roster spot at guard.

Orion Stewart, S — Denver Broncos
Second on team with five tackles before leaving with neck injury. Status questionable. Competing against two other UDFA safeties for roster spot.

Ryan Reid, S — Los Angeles Chargers
Reid's competing with nearly a dozen CBs (including four other rookies) for a roster spot. Had two solo tackles against the Seahawks.

Seth Russell, QB — Free Agent
Failed to make roster after signing with Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent.

Ish Zamora, WR — Oakland Raiders
Fighting for roster spot with two other rookie receivers. Failed to catch sole target. Fellow rookies combined for one catch in four targets.
2015
Andrew Billings, DT — Cincinnati Bengals
Missed entire 2016 season with injury. Impressed in first preseason game clogging lanes, fighting for starting spot with veteran Pat Sims. Had only tackle on a third-and-one situation.

Jarell Broxton, G — Baltimore Ravens
Listed as second backup to six-time Pro-Bowler Marshal Yanda.

Corey Coleman, WR — Cleveland Browns
Recently cleared of assault charges in New Year’s Eve incident.
Stepping into WR1 role with mixed notes. Two receptions on four targets for 11 yards in preseason opener. Still adjusting to new QB Brock Osweiler throwing behind him.

Spencer Drango, OT — Cleveland Browns
Listed third-string left guard. Played 16 snaps (21 percent), tied for the fewest on the offensive line. Was flagged for holding as the Browns allowed four sacks and seven QB hits.

Rico Gathers, TE — Dallas Cowboys
7 rec, 106 yards and 2 TDs (two games)
Did this in Hall of Fame game

Did this against the Rams.

Rico’s making moves.

Xavien Howard, CB — Miami Dolphins
Poised for breakout season with strong camp reviews at CB2, had a disappointing outing Week 1. Two solo tackles and questionable coverage, getting beat all day.

Jimmy Landes, LS — Free Agent
Let go by Detroit Lions in June.

Blake Muir, OT — Indianapolis Colts
No updates on Muir’s status.
2014
Antwan Goodley, WR — Kansas City Chiefs
Waived by Chiefs in July, reverted to team injured reserve list after passing through waivers.

Bryce Hager, LB — Los Angeles Rams
Two combined tackles against Cowboys. Struggled in coverage.

Bryce Petty, QB — New York Jets
Completed 2-of-6 passes for 16 yards. A slow start to move his name up the depth chart for a team struggling under center with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Had three TDs to seven INTs last season in six games.
2013
Demetri Goodson, CB — Green Bay Packers
PUP list (knee). Not expected to play until Week 7 recovering from ACL surgery.

Cyril Richardson, OT — Chicago Bears
Backup to All-Pro left guard Josh Sitton following Eric Kush tearing hamstring. Struggled to impress against Broncos.
2012
Terrance Williams, WR — Dallas Cowboys
Did not play Hall of Fame Weekend. Failed to catch lone target against Rams. Still inked into WR2 spot opposite Dez Bryant.
2011
Kendall Wright, WR — Chicago Bears
Signed with Bears after five seasons with Titans. Expected to play key role as WR3 without Alshon Jeffrey in town. Had one catch for 14 yards on two targets.

Robert Griffin III, QB — Free Agent
Rumors of signing with the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens have cooled down the past week.

Phil Taylor, DT — Washington Redskins
Has not played in two seasons but is working as a starter in practice and took first-string reps against Ravens. Had one tackle but seemed to impress as a run-stuffer clogging lanes.
2007
Jon Weeks, LS — Houston Texans
Enters eighth season with Texans, looking to make his second Pro Bowl.
1998
Matt Bryant, K — Atlanta Falcons
Missed 47-yard field goal attempt. Made both PATs. Will be starting kicker barring injury.

Rico looks Sick - If he can get the run block thing down, he will be Wittens replacement.

Hopefully, RG3 will get signed with a team after week one when vested veterans are no longer guaranteed.
