Final Expectations for Baylor's Defense

My hope is that Baylor can get back to playing tough, sound defense this fall so that opposing fanbases know that when Baylor comes to town, or they have to come to McLane, they’re going to have to earn it.

Baylor’s defense was atrocious last season, finishing 105th in defensive SP+ and 103rd in defensive FEI. With so much experience returning and a very solid transfer portal infusion, it will improve. The question is, by how much?

Projection systems expect a lot of improvement. SP+ projects them to improve to 64th nationally, while FEI projects 62nd. These are disappointing numbers in a vacuum, but are massively improved from last season.
