Head Coach Mitch Thompson
On this year’s signing class…
“I am extremely excited to announce this new recruiting class. This class culminates a couple years of extremely good work by every member of our coaching staff. Coach Zach Dillon has done a tremendous job in coordinating our recruiting efforts, and along with coaches Jim Blair and Sean Snedeker, our staff has done a fantastic job at evaluating these players and finding our type of guy.
“Probably the thing that I am most excited about regarding this year’s class is the athleticism and versatility. Each of these guys are outstanding students, come from really good families and they each bring skills to the field each day that give them the ability to win games in multiple ways.
“With college baseball rosters shrinking in size next year, it was imperative for us to continue to recruit athletic guys that have the ability to play multiple positions and give us various ways for them to impact the game on a daily basis. We feel very strongly that each of these guys can do just that. They have each proven to have an outstanding work ethic, they love to compete and they all love the game. When you combine their skills and talent with their outstanding makeup, we believe we have a fantastic recipe for winning. We are extremely grateful that these guys have decided to be Baylor Bears!”
On the position players in the Class of 2024…
“Offensively, some of them win with speed and some of them win with power, but all of them can play defense. They can help us win games with their bats and their legs, and they can also win with their gloves, and I am very excited to add those tools to our program.”
On the pitchers in the Class of 2024…
“On the mound, Keegan, Alex and Caldwell can all three pound the strike zone with multiple pitches. They each have an outstanding strikeout pitch, and each bring a fighter’s mentality with them to the mound. They live in attack mode!”
