Baylor Football Adds Three to Support Staff

WACO, Texas -- Baylor football has added a trio to its staff in advance of the spring practice season, welcoming Kaeron Johnson as Assistant Athletics Director for Football Relations, Connor Killian as Director of Football Strategy and Jadyn Wells as Director of On-Campus Recruiting, announced Tuesday by head coach Dave Aranda.

Johnson, a former Baylor defensive lineman from 2009-12, joins the BU staff after serving as the head football coach at Waco’s University High School in the 2024 season. He previously served as the assistant head football coach and defensive coordinator at Midway High School, also in Waco.

Johnson, a native of Cuero, Texas, was both a fullback and defensive tackle for the Bears from 2009-12, logging time in 37 career games. He helped the Bears to the 2010 Texas Bowl and the 2011 Alamo Bowl.  Johnson will serve as the Assistant AD for Football Relations, spearheading relationships with the Texas High School Coaches Association.

A native of Keller, Texas, Killian joins the Baylor staff after serving as the assistant offensive line coach at North Texas the last two seasons. He spent a season as the assistant tight ends coach at Louisiana Tech in 2022 and as a quality control coach at Texas Tech in 2021.

During his time at Texas Tech, Killian worked with the offense and special teams and served as the interim special teams coordinator for the 2021 Liberty Bowl. A two-time graduate of Texas Tech with a bachelor’s and master’s, Killian played fullback and tight end from 2016-20, logging time in 27 games with a pair of starts.

Wells joins the staff after working as an assistant in the Texas Tech football offices for the last six years. She earned her bachelor’s in sports management from TTU. Wells is the daughter of former Utah State and Texas Tech head coach, and current associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Kansas State, Matt Wells.
