Second team this year to choke against Baylor. Record could easily be 2-4 at the moment. TCU and Cincy won't make the same mistakes.

couldn't we easily be 5-1 too?

But it isn't

Putting that **** on paper at 4-2 (2-1) and a 5 game road P4 winning streak heading into our biggest rival's house.
Noooo evidence for that, babeeyyy, just maaade it up.

TCU will curb stomp Dave's game plan. SMU choked away the game to us, TCU won't.

Nothing is absolute in this league. TCU, IMO, choked away their ASU game in a Bayloresq manner. I think you will see head scratchers all over the Bix XII this year.

It's possible, or maybe we beat them like we did last year.

In the meantime they have CU and KSU to think about.

There are head-scratchers all over college football. The margin is relatively narrow between most teams in the sport.

One thing is for sure is that we will have to play a whole lot better than we have so far in order to beat TCU.

The TCU game will likely look like every other game we've played this year. Just faster paced and more high scoring.

The transitive property means nothing for our team. We're going to go out and move the ball/score on everyone we play and give up tons of yards and points defensively. It will be a white-knuckle experience that's likely decided in the final minutes.

Aranda's teams rarely blow teams out, but we also rarely get blown out. Almost every game we play is decided by one or two scores. And I suspect the TCU game will be the same way.

Watching TCU the last four weeks, they're a lot like us. They have a good, talented offense and a porous defense. I'm expecting another epic shootout.

TCU and Cincy have already made the same mistakes in their own games this year and it's just as legitimate that they do the same thing against us this year

All year I've thought this was going to be a tough matchup on the road with our secondary woes. We are likely going to need to get healthier and win the turnover battle. Need some bye week magic from the coaches two years in a row. Auburn really beat the crap out of us physically the first game and I think it's really colored the trajectory of the season so far. Would have been a great year a Texas tech schedule in non conference then we are probably healthier and undefeated and borderline top ten. Good news is that a great season is still on the table if we can get healthier. Don't doubt the sawyer magic yet.

Good question. Would have loved to be a fly on the bleachers during Spring Training to examine what exactly the coaching staff was looking at. My feeling is that the staff probably saw some warning signs (accuracy problems) but opted to go with Finn anyway due to the substantial NIL money spent.

Just checked the QB stats in NCAA logs..

Finn is ranked #120 has thrown for 635 yards with 3 TD 4 INT and 7 sacks.

I think he was basically a running QB.. currently playing for Miami of Ohio..

There's no telling.

The staff probably should have realized that Robertson was their best option in 2023, once it was clear that Shapen was going to be injured often.

Or maybe even before that season began, as anyone watching both QB's closely could see that Robertson had better command of the offense and appeared to be a much more vocal leader for the team.

Many of us noticed that in Game 2 of that season, when we nearly forced OT against Utah (with Robertson at the helm).

Should have taken our lumps that year (which we ended up doing anyway, record-wise) and just rolled with Robertson for the rest of the season, which would have allowed him to gain some valuable experience and be the clear-cut starter going into the '24 Season.

Had that been the case, Finn likely would not have transferred here, and could have gone to a school where he would have been a better fit.

For those who aren't aware, Finn is currently the starting QB at Miami of Ohio. He was injured in their 3rd game against UNLV and was out for a week, but came back on Saturday and led them to victory over NIU.

Finn was our #1 off-season investment in terms of $$$. How do you tell a top donor that you paid x hundred thousand dollars for someone but he's never even going to play a snap b/c you didn't do a good job evaluating talent for him versus the guy already on your roster. Spac recruited Finn like days after coming and they just missed on that one. Possibly could have landed Leavitt if they wanted him --- not sure --- but wanted the best pure runner they could find. Thankfully it worked out in the end b/c Sawyer better than all of them.
