Baylor rising redshirt senior linebacker Phoenix Jackson is set to enter the transfer portal, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
Jackson totaled just nine tackles in three games this fall, before suffering a season-ending injury against Samford on Sept. 13; he had six tackles in the opener against Auburn.
At Fresno State in 2024, Jackson totaled 49 tackles, 7.0 for loss, 4.0 sacks, two interceptions, four pass breakups and one forced fumble. He chose Baylor over Auburn last offseason as a transfer.
The Bears are expected to return linebackers Keaton Thomas, Kyland Reed, Kaleb Burns and Ke’Breion Winston. Plus, Travion Barnes, a prized transfer addition last offseason from FIU, has another year of eligibility after suffering a season-ending injury against Arizona State on Sept. 20.
The transfer portal window this offseason runs from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16, but the Bears have completed the majority of their player-exit meetings.
