Baylor rising redshirt senior tight end Kelsey Johnson is set to enter the transfer portal, according to his social media.
Across his four seasons in Waco, Johnson amassed 23 receptions and 174 receiving yards. This fall, he had just three catches for 33 yards, two of which came in the final game of the season against Houston on Nov. 29, filling in for an injured Michael Trigg.
Johnson battled injuries and redshirted last year. As a sophomore in 2023, he played in all 12 games and totaled 11 catches for 80 yards.
As a true freshman, Johnson made an immediate impact, playing in 10 games with four starts. He had a career day in the narrow loss to No. 4 TCU, totaling 63 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson was a three-star prospect out of Red Oak High School and was rated as the No. 14 tight end in the country. He finished his career with 78 receptions for 1,314 yards and 21 touchdowns.
The transfer portal window this offseason runs from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16.
