Five-Star 2027 Center Ogechi Okeke Commits to Baylor Women's Basketball

Okeke is the second commitment in the Bears' 2027 class.

Five-star center Ogechi Okeke has committed to head coach Nicki Collen and Baylor women’s basketball. Okeke is the second player in the 2027 recruiting class to commit to the Bears, joining four-star forward Miciah “Mimi” Fusilier.

The 6-foot-4 prospect currently attends Fort Bend Hightower in Missouri City, Texas. Okeke boasts a 6-foot-9 wingspan and is among the best rebounders in the 2027 class.

Okeke visited Baylor last September on an unofficial visit and returned to Waco this weekend, where she committed to the coaching staff. She also visited Ole Miss, Rutgers, Miami, Arizona State and Houston. She held notable offers from TCU, Duke and Notre Dame, among others.

Okeke is ranked 13th nationally on ESPN.

Gotta believe that was a part of the sales pitch. As long as that needle doesn't move on either side we should be good…for the first year anyway. But you're right…it's the wild west.

I don't come over here that often, but when I do there's usually a
"Nicki is the best coach in the world" / "Nicki is the worst coach in the world" vibe going on here. I'm neither one nor the other. But I do know everyone has crowed about her recruiting and specifically her inability to find bigs. She's done BOTH in this instance so I don't understand why there are so few posts on this thread. Give the lady credit when credit is due, and with this commitment it is due. Excellent job, Nicki and staff.

Impressive credentials and an excellent addition to the team. Find a high quality PG who can be part of this class and we've really got the makings of future success.

This is a huge pick up!! I have seen her play in person. Probably up there with all of our top recruits except Griner. Now let's get A'zyua Blair to go with her and we will be rolling!!
