Baylor has one of the top 15 jobs in college football and here are some of the reasons why:
  1. Location — There are probably 150-200 D1 offers for college football within a three-hour radius of Waco.  That is a huge advantage for any potential coach.  He just needs to convince quality players to stay close to home.
  2. Facilities — McLane Stadium is one of the premier stadiums in college football.  And everything else associated with Baylor football from strength training, practice facilities to nutrition is top notch thanks to the efforts of Art Briles and generous donors.
  3. Proven recent success — Art Briles showed that you can win big at Baylor and sustain a top 20 program over a period of years.  Power 5 conference affiliation is also a huge plus.
  4. Compensation — It is no secret that Baylor was paying top five pay for their head coach and staff.  Baylor’s willingness to pay top dollar has every coach’s attention.

Brian Ethridge | Co-Owner/Publisher

The number one reason a coach should choose Baylor is the commitment to winning. Baylor's Board of Regents have approved and helped raise funds for over $500 million of facilities upgrades over the past 10 years. There are few colleges that can say this in the entire country.

If a new coach wants a new piece of equipment the check book is open. The commitment doesn't stop just in facilities, but extends to assistant coaches and staff pay to make sure the best are retained in the program.

Since 2010, Baylor has secured a record over 61-21 on the football field including a 19-12 record versus the likes of Oklahoma (3-3), Texas (4-2), Oklahoma State (4-3), Texas Tech (5-1) and TCU (3-3). The ability to win consistently against the toughest competition in conference over a seven-year period shows staying-power regardless of who is in Waco.

To match the success on the field, Baylor's commitment to be among the leaders nationally in facilities and innovation is a huge selling point for Baylor's next coach. In 2014, Baylor opened McLane Stadium that was preceded by the $34 million Highers Athletic Complex and Simpson Center in 2008 and the Allison Indoor Practice Facility 2009. Most recently, Baylor added the Beauchamp Athletic Nutrition Center (BANC) in 2015 and opted for a $1.1 million renovation to the program's weight room.

As much value as the dedication to facilities provides, it only sets the table for a head coach looking to receive a top salary nationally, something that Baylor has shown they are willing to provide with success.

We have gone all in on everything else, we MUST do so again for the next coach...it may well drive the trajectory of ALL athletics going forward with P5 status potentially on the line.
