In their 18 for '18 countdown for college football, NFL.com ranked the 18 most freakish athletes who are set to play in the 2018 college football season. Included in the list was Baylor wide receiver Jalen Hurd, a senior transfer from the University of Tennessee who will be eligible for the Bears this fall.

6. Jalen Hurd, WR, Baylor
The last we heard from Hurd, he left Butch Jones' crumbling program in the midst of the 2016 season and enrolled at Baylor, where he sat out last season under NCAA transfer rules. Let's catch you up: He's gone from one of the SEC's top running backs, at 6-4 and 240 pounds, to a 229-pound wide receiver at Baylor. That transition alone, at his size, requires rare athletic skills. Hurd can run the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds with eye-popping explosiveness (10-10 broad jump). He's also been clocked at less than 4 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle, something only three players at this year's NFL combine accomplished.

In his career at Tennesse, Hurd totaled more than 3,000 total rushing and receiving yards with 26 total touchdowns.

Whoa. Excited to see him and Fruhmorgan on the field this year, as well as many other non-transfers.

I cannot explain how much that I cannot wait until we see him in a Baylor uniform doing that to Texas, OU and the rest of the Big 12.

He's genetically gifted no doubt...

I can't for the life of me figure out how a guy that is soaring to incredible heights at Tenn as a tailback - pulls the plug allegedly out of a desire to play another position and transfers to another school embroiled in a dumpster fire situation.....

Hope that by design we get the ball in his hands and see what he can contribute.

Yeah I've tamped the brakes on his contributions but hopefully our new offensive wizards find a way to get him the ball. I'll keep expectations well managed

He has said he didn't like what being a tailback was doing to his body. He felt like he'd have a longer career as a WR. His coach at Tenn wouldn't t let him do that so he transferred.

Really hope that o-line gels and the injury bug stays at bay, this team has potential to turn some heads and shock people with what it can do.

Hope Hurd tears it up. I hated he quit mid-season but with Botch Jones he gets a free pass. To say he quit due to a position change isn't half the story. Either way nothing but love for Jalen and I hope he shows out for yall.
