Baylor head coach Jim Grobe provided additional insight to the suspension of redshirt freshman nickelback Eric Ogor that was made public on Wednesday.

"Honestly, Eric hasn’t been playing a whole lot and he hasn’t had a very good attitude about that, Grobe said. "So it became, in my estimation, a distraction to our football team. So we are going to let him cool down and take some time off."

Grobe stated that he felt that in the current circumstances it was necessary to address the issue publicly to prevent unneeded speculation.

“I usually don’t ever talk about for those type things, but in this case I feel that I don’t want anybody to think that this is behavior issue where he had done anything really bad. It’s just an attitude adjustment.”

Grobe added that he expects Ogor to return to the team for spring practice.

"That's what we expect. I expect fully that once we get through this season to have him back going."

“It’s not anything more than a suspension, and we would expect him to learn from it, to mature a little bit. He’s got ability and I think he can play down the road…”

Through five games to begin the season, Ogor totaled five tackles and defended one pass.

Ogor (5-11, 205) attended Richmond (TX) Foster High School and signed with the Bears as part of the 2015 recruiting class.
