WATCH: Jalen Hurd receives his life-changing phone call
Baylor wide receiver Jalen Hurd was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday evening with the 67th overall pick. The former Tennessee Volunteer and running back has taken quite a path to the NFL so the call from the 49ers management was a welcomed event.
“We’ve got a great vision and this is going to be awesome man,” 49ers General Manager John Lynch told Hurd after sharing the news.
Hurd (6-5, 226) led Baylor in receptions (69) and yards (946) while catching four touchdowns while playing in 12 regular season games. Hurd also added 48 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns to give him 1,155 total yards and seven scores in his senior season.
