Ten Things: Oklahoma

Baylor and Oklahoma squared off Saturday and here are the ten things which stood out to me during the game.

  1. The atmosphere is electric
  2. OL needs to give Brewer time
  3. Great touchdown drive on the second series and defense is getting after Hurts
  4. Great playcalling leads to Mims TD
  5. Grayland Arnold‍ says thank you very much
  6. You watching CFP Committee?
  7. Turnovers kill drives
  8. The offense has to get the defense off the field
  9. Turnovers ended the game
  10. See Oklahoma in Jerry World

BU really had to play mistake-free football to win this game, and they didn't.

The Cotton Bowl is still worse, but this is right up there with our basketball team's first-round tournament loss to Georgia State for me.

It's just so frustrating thinking about all of the little things that went wrong tonight, any one of which would have flipped the outcome in our favor. And I can't turn my damn brain off.

The officiating was bad enough to be worth listing.

I kept saying #6 during the first half. Not so much in the 2nd.

We'll tag them back in the Big 12 Championship game. Gotta take care of business next week first.

Stop with the officiating angle. That is so lame. The only bad thing I saw was the poor spot before their 4th down try at the 21. The change of call from PI to a hold on Houston was so unnecessary as Jordan William who played a helluva game got the tip. So you should focus more on the team than the refs. Every fan is always pissed at the refs on certain calls, but we only had one penalty last nigh. No false starts (thank you Galvin), no holds, no nothing/ So you cannot say that the officiating was a contributing factor. Instead ;look to the O side and try and understand why we took our foot off the pedal when CB had time to throw in the 2nd half. That is perplexing to me. We stopped running the successful routes when they took CB's running away. And you gotta give OU credit for being able to play ball control which is not something they normally do. Hurts is a beast and took every shot we gave and there were many. He is a college football stud. SEC experience against badass D;'s really helped him last night.

They let 73 hold every play and that holding call on bu was bogus. They had a big effect .

Defense had to be gassed in the second half. Seemed like OU had possession for about 27 minutes of it. Hurts started reminding me of Bell-dozer, but on every down. Gotta have an answer for that. Then he suddenly remembered how to throw good when it counted.

I swear I'd see Lynch get by his man multiple times but he was being held on.
