Within 24 hours of setting the Cactus Bowl receiving record with 14 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns on Tuesday evening, Baylor junior wide receiver KD Cannon announced that he would forgo his final year of eligibility and enter his name into the 2017 NFL Draft.

Cannon, a product of Mt. Pleasant (TX) High School in East Texas, finished his Baylor career with 3,113 yards on 195 receptions and 27 total touchdowns, including 1,215 yards and 13 touchdowns on 87 receptions in 2016.

His 200-yard performance was the fourth of his three-year career as a Bear and second of the season (Rice). He also notched 200-yard games against Oklahoma State (2015) and Northwestern State (2014). He narrowly missed a fifth against Michigan State in the 2015 Cotton Bowl (197).

If Cannon is selected in the draft, it will mark the sixth Baylor receiver taken in the last eight drafts, including 2016 first round pick Corey Coleman.

Cannon announced his decision to enter the draft on Twitter after the Baylor football team arrived in Waco on Wednesday.
