Baylor has no new positive COVID-19 tests according to Dave Aranda

After the lastest round of COVID-19 testing on Sunday, head coach Dave Aranda stated during his press conference on Monday morning that there were no new positive tests to report.

The news comes a day after the Bears returned to practice following a shut down of team activies and the postponement of their homecoming contest against Oklahoma State until Dec. 12. 

Two weeks ago, following a trip to West Virginia, the Baylor football program saw a total of 45 players and 14 staff members contract the virus or be place into contact tracing after close contact with a positive testing person. After failing to meet minimum requirements for individual position group implemented by the Big 12, Baylor saw their third schedule change of the season. 

While the specific numbers were released to SicEm365 Radio last week by Baylor Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades, no official announcement was made on which players were in quarantine. 

Baylor’s shut down of team of activities lasted a total of nine days before the team returned to the facilities on Sunday for a walkthrough and to begin prep for their upcoming game against Texas in Austin on Saturday.

According to Aranda, multiple units of the team, including players who had previously tested positive, were able to condition throughout the week.
