No. 6 Men's Tennis Ready For Battle Against Top-Five Opponents
WACO, Texas – After opening the season ranked No. 15, Baylor men’s tennis (5-0) made the jump to No. 6 in the latest Oracle/ITA team rankings and will be promptly met with a pair of top-five opponents this weekend.
The Bears will travel to Austin to meet No. 4 Texas (4-0) on Saturday at Noon at the Texas Tennis Center, followed by a home date against No. 3 TCU (3-0) on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
BU currently owns a 10-match win streak, dating back to Feb. 16, 2020, and boasts a combined 26-1 record in singles. The Bears are 5-0 in the doubles point this season, with a combined 13-1 mark in doubles play.
The last time Baylor faced at least three teams ranked inside the top-five in the same season was 2019, collecting a 2-3 record against such opponents.
Texas holds the all-time series lead 44-22 over BU, and the Bears’ last win in Austin came on April 12, 2017.
Baylor will put its 30-match home win streak on the line against the Horned Frogs, with TCU also leading the all-time series 34-26.
