Michelle Lenard

Head Coach

Hired on December 11th, 2021, Michelle Lenard became the sixth head coach of Baylor Soccer since the program’s inception in 1996. Lenard spent 14 years at her previous stop, Dallas Baptist University, where she lead the Patriots to 13 conference championships (7 regular-season, 6 tournament) and coached nine Division II All-Americans and 91 All-Conference players. Lenard earned four conference Coach of the Year awards, and guided her teams to nine NCAA Tournament appearances with a high-watermark of the 2021 Final Four.

Prior to DBU, Lenard was an assistant at UNT and TWU. She played at UNT from 1999-2002 and was an All-Conference performer. She is originally from Lubbock, Texas.

Lea Sedwick Caffey

Assistant Coach

Coming with Michelle Lenard from DBU in 2021, Sedwick was on staff at DBU for six years prior to the move. After playing soccer for Dallas Baptist University for the 2011-2014 seasons, Sedwick joined the coaching staff where she was most recently the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Sedwick has earned a NSCAA National Coaching Diploma along with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and a B.S. in Mathematics.

Cole Ouren

Assistant Coach

Joining Michelle Lenard’s new staff in January 2022, Ouren helps oversee match and video analysis in addition to individual player development. He also plays a key role in recruiting. He most recently was the head women’s soccer coach at Central Christian College in 2020 and 2021. He had been the men’s head coach at Central Christian from 2010-12. In between, he was the Director of Coaching at Pride Soccer Club a member of the Elite Club National League for high schoolers. He held other roles with the U.S. Soccer Federation and the Colorado Soccer Association during this time as well.

Cameron Carter

Cameron Carter

Assistant Coach

Another January 2022 addition to Lenard’s staff, Carter served as the volunteer assistant and goalkeepers coach for 2022. She spent time as an assistant at UTSA and Idaho after her playing career at Arkansas finished. Carter is a Waco native, having played at Midway High School.
Heading into the 2023 season, Carter was made a full-time assistant coach.

Maggie Scales

Maggie Scales

Director of Soccer Operations

Joining Michelle Lenard’s new staff in January 2022, Scales serves as the Director of Soccer Operations. She was a Graduate Assistant under Lenard for the 2020 and 2021 seasons at DBU after finishing her playing career at DBU in 2019. She was a First-Team All-American in Division II as a senior. Scales is originally from McKinney, Texas.
