Which band would you remove? This would delete them and their songs from the Earth.

I would remove elimate and replace with eliminate.

I would agree with you except I don't know any of her songs.

I'll go with Bruce Springsteen

Point of Clarification - When you say "eliminate" do you mean the band goes away as a band, or that the individual members are removed from existence?

If it just relates to the band, Spice Girls.

If it relates to the individuals as well as the band, Poison.

Cute film. What if Beatles never existed, but you have memories of them.

Heh. I'll be honest. While my distaste of country music is real, it's usually reserved for stuff produced after around 1983 or so. My dad was born in (technically Bell County) Little River, TX in 1926. I grew up an Ernest Tubb fan, with Kitty Wells and the like on the stereo all the time. Certainly, through the 50's and 60's, country music blended into Easy Listening standards with George Jones and Loretta Lynn type stuff. "Tight Fittin' Jeans" is usually my go-to karaoke standard.

While Buddy Rich was an opinionated jerk about everything not jazz (and himself), there's an anecdotal story about a nurse prepping him for surgery and asking about anesthesia and drug allergies. She asked him, "Is there anything you can't take?", and he replied, "Yeah. Country music!".

Funny. Not really a Country fan, but like a lot of what is considered "folk" ie. Neil Young

Fine line

I think I just dislike the Steel Guitar - except for Pink Flyod

I follow you.
Most of what passes for C&W these days is just bro rock singing about their big truck.

You can't go wrong with Merle Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash.
"Mama Tried"
"White Lightning"
"I Still Miss Someone"

I hold out hope that we will get that old, retro sound back, but I'm not holding my breath.

Pull up "Hillbillies From Outer Space" on the Vaughan Brothers LP, Family Style.
That is Jimmie Vaughan, playing a steel guitar through a Leslie tone cabinet. (!!!)
I have never heard anything like it, before or since.

I agree most Nashville C&W producers have ruined country music that is played on FM and satellite radio (save for Outlaw Country on XM). BUT there has never been a time when more quality music is being created - you need to be on Pandora, Spotify, or Apple Music, etc.

Here are a few examples off top of mind of what is out there:
Sturgill Simpson's first few albums
Tyler Childers
Jason Isbell
Turnpike Teoubadours
Randy Rogers Band
Max Stalling
Lucero
American Aquarium

Also- a lot of great acts are more under the Americana umbrella and not C&W.

Queen. So sick of "We Are The Champions" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" after nearly 50 years.....sick of it, sick of it, sick of it.

Second choice would be The Dead Kennedy's for obvious reasons.

One of my sons was into the Dead Kennedys. I like the better than the some of the other stuff he listened to., Cambodia, and Klil the Poor are decent songs

DK has a lot of listenable stuff (considering the genre). Jello Biafra had a message, and the band broadcast it loud and clear. Minor Threat and Fugazi had similar catalogs.

A lot of hardcore bands just got playing so fast that they weren't listenable for more than a song or two. Just a blast beat, chainsaw guitar, and someone screaming over it.
