One of my favorite things to do for Father's Day was finding the perfect card to send my Dad. Nothing mushy, nothing insulting, just a good middle of the road card with a funny quip would do. His birthday was on June 17th so periodically his BD and FD would fall on the same day. Man, he was in his element. The day would usually include a great steak and a trip to Perkin's or Marie Callender's for a slice of pie and of course all the family piling into the house for the afternoon. I would usually treat him to a trip to Laughlin later that week, so he could drain off all the nickel's he had been saving. Great times...I miss those a lot.
