My buddy Wonderboy Thompson just lost a split decision in what may be his final UFC fight. Oldest fighter in the UFC at 42. The guy he lost to is 18-1, 27 year old Gabriel Bonhim from Brazil.

It's legacy vs. legacy, and on Sept. 13, boxing gets its next defining fight.

When two pound-for-pound kings step into the ring, history doesn't wait it swings. The undisputed face of Mexican boxing will square off against the undefeated American phenom in a historic showdown, and it's all happening live on Netflix.

On Saturday, Sept. 13, Netflix will stream the blockbuster bout between Mexico's Sal "Canelo" lvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) and undefeated American superstar Terence "Bud" Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), live from Las Vegas.

Ahead of this epic Saturday fight night, Canelo and Crawford will stage a three-city international press tour, kicking off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 20 before heading to the United States for stops at Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center in New York City on Sunday, June 22, and at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, June 27.

The comments that they showed on screen agreed with Joe on that. But even as a Wonderboy fan, I concede that it was close as hell all the way through the fight.

Stephen is a great striker but his frame makes him susceptible to take downs when someone puts a body lock on him and is tall enough to lift him. He's an American JJ BB, but folks have switched to Brazilian JJ and they has haunted him since he fought for the title those two times

a huge weapon of his striking is his speed. He's still super quick, but you can tell he has lost a little bit of speed (more kicks and punches seem to get blocked or miss….not sure what the stats say). Everyone is so well rounded as fighters now it is hard to keep your distance if you are a predominately striker…especially against a wrestler who likes to ground and pound.

He came into the UFC as an undefeated professional full contact karate fighter, I don't think he ever fought points, an absolute wonder to watch for these old eyes of Taekwondo, Shotokan and others. All the disciplines at work, his dad is an incredible coach and was voted "Baddest Man in South Carolina"!!

Wonderboy was 57-0 in PKA fights with 40 KOs.

He should have won both these fight. The crowds hated both of these: majority decision draw against Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 205 in November 2016, and also lost a five-round majority decision to Woodley in a title fight at UFC 209 in March 2017.

He's such a nice guy too. Probably the best mannered young man of anyone in PKA or UFC

I always felt that his kindness was a bit of a weakness when matched against some of the more aggressive fighters. Then again, it may have also helped him stay composed and think clearly under pressure. He rarely took heavy damage, which speaks to his skill, but I often wished he had a bit more of that killer instinct, a desire to truly dominate his opponents. Just too nice of a guy at times. Still, an incredible striker as his stand-up game was top-tier. He is a brown belt in BJJ under Carlos Machado, right?

His brother Evan is really good, but not like Stephen. Looks a lot like him. I think he runs a Machado BJJ dojo right now. He was still at the one in Farmers Branch when I was around.

All of Carlos's brothers came by at one time or another.

RIgan Machado is one BAAAAAD man. Rigan is 365-0 in BJJ!! He has his location in Beverly Hills and teaches a ton of celebrities including Kneau Reeves who he trained for the John Wick movies. Machado was awarded the first black belt under Gracie Barra founder Carlos Gracie Jr. and is one of the original teachers who taught in the garage of Rorion Gracie in the early days of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in America. He also trained with his other cousins such Rickson Gracie, Rorion Gracie, Rillion Gracie, his uncle Carlos Gracie Sr, and his brothers. Chuck Norris was a student of his before Carlos M came to Dallas to film Walker, Texas Ranger. His BJJ studio was at the end of the Production Studio for Walker, in Carrollton

Rigan's claim of 365-0 are by him and not substantiated the last I checked. Websites have his official competitive record in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 7 wins and 8 losses. Still damn good, but I'm not sure as good as he says

Oh, he's vastly better than 7 wins and 8 losses. 7 wins is less than some tournaments. He is widely regarded as one of the top competitors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu history. He also competed and won many tournaments in judo, sambo, and wrestling. In Sambo he was placed second at the 198 lbs division, and third at the open class of the 1993 Pan American Sambo Championships in Chula Vista and at some point between 1990 and 1994, he was seen submitting several Judo black belts in at least one Judo competition at the West Covina Dojo. He represented Brazil at the International Sambo Championships and won it. He won the Pan American BJJ 3 times, sweeping it each time. He did win 4 US National Championships in Sambo. I doubt any of the records that reflect 7-8 count all his victories in Brazil. He also created a record by having 19 matches in one day and finishing all of them by submission.

And by the way, he never saw anywhere close to 198 in the years that I saw him

Me and Rigan at Carlos's dojo in Farmer's Branch. We rolled a few times, that dude is country strong

First thing to learn, it's okay to get hit in the face. You're not gonna die. My Tae Kwon Do instructor in Waco was a guy named Luther Duffy. He would put boxing gloves on us and smack us in the face. I mean it was nothing like a fist, but prepared you for your black belt beating!
