Thanks for posting this brother. She was 103 yoa. Lived in her house until maybe 3-4 months ago. Talked to her two days ago and she didnt know who I was. Her body had failed her earlier.

No kidding. She knew so much about Waco. I grilled her on a lot of history on Waco and Baylor. The Goebels were some of our best friends. (Goebel Building - it used to be where all the printing was done, not sure if its still on campus)

Rented from there several times when it was on the west side of 25th. And 103 is definitely great genes.

Grant Eternal Rest, O God

We commend into God's loving care, our sister in Christ, Joyce Heckmann, who died in faith on Monday. We pray for God's peace and comfort to be with her family, friends, this community of faith, and all who mourn her death.

Visitation for Joyce will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., on Friday, June 19th, and her memorial service will be Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m., also held at St. Matthew (800 North New Road, Waco, TX). Additional details will be shared later in June.

Rest eternal grant her, O God, and let light perpetual shine upon her.

Sorry, just saw this. Very sorry for your loss, Assassin, and glad to hear your mom lived a full and accomplished life.

Thanks OB. She was a jewel.

I miss our weekly phone calls the most. She was pretty sharp until those last couple of months

Mom in front of the Baylor bell. Sometime in the 1930s I think.
