I have to admit, I have only seen the very first Jurassic Park. Are each of them stand alone movies or are they actually some sort of epic series such as Star Wars.

Pretty much stand-alone. They're loosely connected, but not at all like Star Wars.

Like most, the first one is the best one.

first one is the best by a mile... others are ok. The movies are not connected like star wars, more like Alien movies

The special effects look incredible from the trailer of this one. Special effects are far advanced from where they were in 93 (when the only Jurassic Park movie I have seen has come out). I was kind of thinking of seeing this just to view the art work.
