I think I'd have to go with New Orleans. My great grandfather worked as streetcar operator for a while in the late 20's. I've been many times and can't say I like anywhere better, though you have to grin and bear it's blemishes to enjoy it's finer points. I think I like a little grit anyway.

Boston. Love the history. City is highly walkable. Lots of cool stuff to do

Since someone already took Bremond, I'll choose Cranfills Gap.

Leaving out the clear 1-2 combination of Bremond and Cranfills Gap, I would have to say that I have really enjoyed the following for places to visit:

Chicago in early fall or late spring

Seattle in summer

San Diego just about any time

Washington DC in late spring

This is based on the city centers, with things to do, places to stay and eat, and likely weather. It only includes places I have been; there are plenty more places where I have not been that might be nice. I'm not sure how much I would want to live in any of these places, especially if I weren't earning several dozen boatloads of money.

Tie between Goatneck and Detroit. The edge goes to Goatneck. The Brazos there is pretty.

Golfguy, I believe you hit this one out of bounds. In other words, wrong thread.

It looks like a squirrel, but it's Sunday's School so the answer must be Jesus.

Chicago in the summer is the best and the East shore of Lake Michigan in the summer is superb.

Quite a BU pipeline in the early 90's. I knew several kids from Carthage that were in school with me.

Spent many a day on Murvall a long time ago. Hidden treasure as far as Texas lakes go.

C'mon. That ain't fair. Well, a little.

Undoubtedly, that city needs an influx of money and tech. Louisiana gonna Louisiana, though.

To visit? NYC at Christmas-time.

To live? Bend, OR, would be cool.

I do like where I live but it ain't no city. Barely 1000 and I live 6 miles from town.

My 2 favorite cities are probably New Orleans and San Francisco

Admittedly I haven't traveled a ton

I love both primarily for their food/coffee/cocktail/wine culture and walk ability

I never go to quarter. So much more true NO character in LGD, mid city, uptown, etc.

Stay at Parisian b&b, walk to mojo coffee in morning, stein deli or turkey and the wolf for lunch and off you go. F'n awesome
