Here we are in the backyard tossing the Crazy Ball and him roping me.
Lost my dad 34 years ago and still miss him.

Kirby, great video, lost my Dad 36 years ago. We are blessed to know, appreciate our Dad's, and will see him sooner rather than later, Amen?

Yes, we moved to Greenville, MS when I was eight, in 1960.
Rode out Camille in Laurel, MS. Moved there when I was 12.
Even though we were 80 miles inland, I remember it well.
Flattened a lot of pine trees in Jones County.

Never knew my dad; he died of heart or embolism or stroke--we never knew exactly the reason when I was only 4 yeas old. Lots of pictures gives me a kind of personna i can hold on to, but i have no recollection of any live moment with him.

Though it was tough on our single Mother, I and highplans (2 years older) and an older brother 3 years older than highplains turned out pretty OK most would say.

But no matter how well you may turn out over the years, there's still that unique "dad influence" that a single mom, nor willing uncles, nor older best friends can ever fill in.

But we're all blessed. Good families and good lives (in the balance).

Happy father's day to you all.
