Anyone been to South Bend for a football game? Gameday recommendations on things to do and places to eat?

Went there with my son on a recruiting visit last football season. SB is a culinary wasteland. Parisi's Italian is the best we found and it was ok, not. great. Do your eating in Chicago on the in and out. Place is littered with really bad sports bars. Sorry, not much help

Ended up being our experience as well. Not much to South Bend, but Notre Dame campus itself was beautiful. Reminded me of Augusta National being surrounded by the town of Augusta.
