I was eating lunch at Pie Five, in SE Houston, today and the guy noticed my Baylor shirt and told me they were opening a Pie Five, in Waco.

So if you are a Pie Five fan they will be opening one on 4th street close to campus.

He said he didn't know when they would be opening yet.

Pizza is not special but if you have a group everybody can get what they want.

Not my favorite pizza but I go occasionally. I went today because they sent me an email that said I get a free pizza for my half birthday.

Sorry - just saw this. As others said, it's behind In-N-Out in the new strip center. Next to Steel City Pops, the new Smoothie King, etc.

Yes, i know the market well. We started a concept five years ago and are up to almost 50 locations now. We only have one location in TX in Round Rock but should be in the Houston market soon. Our franchisee that opened the Round Rock location decided to sell his entire portfolio that included other brands shortly after he opened his first location of ours and he sold it back to us. The fast casual pizza industry is quickly becoming extremely saturated but is still a hot new concept. Pie Five is actually some of the worst pizza out of all the concepts. Their dough is frozen and they use a roller grill oven similar to quiznos. Their AUVs have suffered lately due to their quality. Fresh dough made daily, stone bed open flame ovens, and higher quality ingredients will ultimately survive in the industry.

Pie 5 is pretty tasty. But if you throw some sauce, cheese, and pepperoni on a newspaper, I'll probably like it. Dress 15 for those counting.

Awesome. Thanks for visiting!! We are rolling out with a new taproom model as well. New site in Memphis that has a greater emphasis on beer is doing really well. Self pour pay by the ounce with an assortment of all the local craft breweries on tap.

If you like the Pie Five type concept but prefer it to have some taste, try Your Pie.

Your Pie, MOD, Blaze, Pieology, and us all use stone ovens. Pie Five wont last in markets with competition. They will do well in Waco due to being first to market.

I like Pie Five. It may not be fancy, but solidly good. The Las Colinas location near my office is always hopping.

I prefer Pie Five to Top Spin which I would think dallas into the same category. Just a personal preference I guess.

Keg, we live down the way from the RR location and frequent it, love the concept and the food. I ran a fast-casual burger franchise group for the past 5 years (left the industry a few months ago), and it was cool to see the emergence of fc pizza concepts, I've been saying for a while they're the next restaurant growth frontier. Rev and Mod are the two I see in the best spot to take the lead, so I wish you lots of luck, especially knowing we've got a Bear behind the wheel out here!

Greatly appreciate it Brad. Like I stated earlier, we are tweaking our model a tad and looking to differentiate from the competition with our new sites. It's unfortunate the new self pour beer technology we are using is still trying to get approved in TX. Smart move getting out of the industry!! On a serious note, best of luck on your next career path. Thanks again for supporting our Round Rock location!

Within about 3 miles, pie five opened about a year ago, blaze about 3 months ago, mod and fire pizza both have signs up and look like they will open within a month. Goodness.

That may be true, but I eat at Subway almost weekly...I think Pie Five is pretty good and easy. Not every meal has to be one for the ages.
