Had a Four Bullets beer at lunch today. It's brewed in Richardson, and is very tasty. It's a red beer, very smooth, pleasant after taste, great flavor.

Not sure where it's sold, but I've had it at 10-50 BBQ and Fish Shack.

It was so good, when I saw Fish Shack served it, I'm having it again at dinner.

Had a Czech Pilsner from Texas Ale Project via Growler from Bluffview Growler! Damn fine beer. They also had Unfiltered Sculpin which was tasty also. Wish I hadn't found that place. Waay too close to home

Shows what you know about finery. They don't make 40oz cans.

Sculptin makes a good product. Not cheap, but everything I've tried from them has been solid.

Do they still make Hoegaarden? Haven't seen it in a spell.

I'll have to try that one. The few others I've tried from Texas Ale Project I didn't care for.

Not sure why they are doing it? But so many of the craft beers are using an inordinate amount of hops. I've tried 8 or 10 new beers over last several months. At least half were so hoppy I could not drink them.

And those beers are not cheap. I have five beers from six packs I have purchased sitting in my fridge, just waiting for some get together where I can pawn them off on some hop-loving friend of mine.

I hear you. I'm not a big hops fan either.

Is there a retailer near you that lets you build your own six pack? Around here many do including Central Market and Total. That's the best way to sample brands and brews to decide what you want to buy more of.

I agree with you boys. Many of the craft brewers are putting too much crap in beer that don't need to be in there. Most all beer has hops and their addition is necessary. However, lots of this new crap has so much hops, it's like chewing on a Christmas Tree. Those beers are way out of balance IMO. I also don't like a bunch of nuts, coffee, fruit and other non-sense in my beer. I also am not a big fan of all these beers aged in some sort of casks, beit whisky, sherry, wine..... blah , blah. Give me a well made pilz, ESB, Stout or here and I'm good.

Have never acquired the taste for the Belgium stuff. Belgium yeast, I think

Yeah, I don't want that and I didn't care for the Hanz pilz, either. But, there are lots of good options out there. Had a new one in a sixer from Southern Star brewery in Conroe this week. Perfect for summer

Spent the weekend in Boulder. Man, they likes them some beer. Visited several and I liked Upslope, Mountain Sun and Avery. Liked Ratio in Denver.

I like St Arnold's. I really like weedwacker and summer pils. Their xmas seasonal is another I always buy. The Elissa is a good IPA. Art car IPA is pretty good too

Upslope is good; haven't tried the others.

Big fan of everything out of Odell in Fort Collins, but especially the 90 Shilling, a Scottish ale, which is a staple in my fridge.

Also like Great Divide in Denver, their Yeti (stout) and Colette (farmhouse).

Small world...I was in Boulder that weekend as well. Upslope and Avery both make good beers. The Imperial IPA from Upslope is really interesting.

If you're there again, try Finkel & Garf. They have a nice little taproom with a great outdoor area to taste a few.

That is a small world. I'm there at least once a year. Will try them on the next visit

I went to 8th Wonder to try the new lineup the other day. Really not bad, although I felt the Dome Fauxm was a tad overrated.

Have you been out to Bakfish yet? It's owned by a couple of old dear friends in my Mardi Gras Krewe -one of whom I used to brew with.

They have a few decent beers but their deep runner stout is amazing. And -I almost always hate Lambics and despise raspberry- but they made me try their raspberry beer and it was really good. Like, shockingly good.
