Some SEC teams end the year below 0.500 & are not bowl eligible. It happens every year, especially to teams in the east division like SC, Vandy, & Kentucky.
You may not know, but Kentucky has been to bowls the last 6 years in a row including 2 Citrus Bowls.

Well, not quite. Their zenith was when they had a coach named Paul Bryant, AKA Bear. He had the Wildcats rolling from 1946-1953.
BTW, it was 1977 when Baylor beat a probation laden Kentucky team
