The destruction of the PAC-12, and other re-alignment rumors, makes me wonder about the future of the schools which chose to leave the Big 12.
  • Texas A&M will stay SEC despite heartburn over the Longhorns
  • Some rumors say Missouri is up for grabs, and certainly Colorado is. The question is who wants them??
  • Some on this board has speculated that Nebraska needs only an excuse to exit the Big 10. Do they have one now?

From the PAC-12, Utah is attractive and logical. The Arizona schools are no prize, but they DO bring a notable market into the fold.

And if the Big 12 added Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State, would it finally make logistics sense to bring Boise State into the fold? Or maybe instead of Colorado?

Nobody at the B1G or SEC table is leaving. That means Nebraska isn't coming back, Missouri isn't coming back, UT/OU/Arkansas/TAMU, none of them are coming back. You might see a flip of Mizzou from the SEC to the B1G, maybe. But otherwise, they aren't going anywhere.

Colorado has an outside shot at the B1G. They may wait to see their options, but if is in a USC/UCLA/Washington/Oregon-less PAC, then they may decide to come home. This would be good for the Big 12 and college sports.

We should take a shot at Utah and the Arizona's. Schools that don't have a ticket or path to the SEC/B1G. If they can shake loose, the rest may very follow.

I agree, NO ONE is leaving either the B1G/SEC unless forced out. Everyone knows those two will be the "Power Conferences'... "AFC&NFC" of college football ultimately.

I don't understand the Colorado issue. They really don't bring anything to the table as I see it for either B1G or Big12. Why are we interested??

I've resigned myself that this turmoil will be consistent and ongoing until the Two Major conferences are settled. I'm hoping that BU will continue to be strongly relevant and consistent to be one of the final schools chosen. Hoping I live long enough to see it.

Missouri isn't leaving the SEC, and Nebraska isn't leaving the Big 10. Colorado is the only obvious loser in the Big 12 musical chairs game from the last 10 years. I would not be at all surprised if they end up in a G5 conference within the next five years, they bring zero competitive or monetary value to the table, and they have been (and continue to be) led terribly by their administration.

Why is the number 2? About 10 years ago there was all this talk of it going to 4 conferences at 16 teams.

Because those 2 conferences are gobbling up the valuable brands .

I agree with above. No current members of the SEC and B10 would be leaving. Why on earth would they?

As far as Colorado is concerned, they can go wander the football wilderness unless they add substantial revenue to the B12.

Hopefully the B12 office is a beehive of activity right now and they are on the phone with our media partners to see who (if anyone) adds the most value.
