According to Pac-12 insider Jon Wilner, a source would be, "stunned," if Washington and Oregon went to the Big Ten as it stands. Wilner stated the growing reality is that the two schools will have to make things work in the Pac-12, or leave and join the Big 12. The source to Wilner provided more information.

Nicely stated!

Simply put, SMU offers nothing of substance to any power conference. They don't/wouldn't deliver the DFW TV market materially more than it is already being delivered by the combined Texas based schools that are already members of power conferences. For all practical purposes they would be just another mouth to feed while diluting $$ payouts to other conference members. Total non-starter.

OU can't pay the GOR buyout and exit. If they could, they would already be gone. Exactly what two teams in the remaining Big XII can blow that kind of money. AND more so why would they want to go to the PAC? We have the better conference.

I don't think they will have any luck. The Big 12 is looking pretty good now & no one has a reason to leave. We might even grow soon, potentially making the conference stronger & mire stable.

If the new model is super conferences, an 18-20 team Big 12 stretching across the country & 4 time zones might be very attractive to Fox & the others.

When SMU offers a prayer, is that a conversation??

SMU wasn’t good enough for the Big 12 when they were almost dead. Would love to see TV numbers comparing SMU to Boise State. My guess is Boise gets at least 3x more viewers…. But that “Dallas market” right? What a joke
