Despite a foot injury that has limited him in summer and has caused him to miss the first several practices of preseason camp, Sneed is happy with his decision.

"I enjoyed my time at Baylor, but I enjoy really getting coached by (CU receivers coach Phil) McGeoghan," Sneed said. "He's actually my fifth receiver coach I've had and he's taught me a lot in a short amount of time and I appreciate him and everything he's done so far."

Sneed, who was injured during the spring showcase April 23, expects to return to the practice field soon and be ready for the Sept. 2 opener.

In Sneed, the Buffs are getting a proven veteran who can help solidify a receiver group that went through some turbulence last winter.

Starters Brenden Rice (Southern California) and Dimitri Stanley (Iowa State) transferred, as did three other receivers. The Buffs also dismissed offensive coordinator/receivers coach Darrin Chiaverini, leading to the hire of McGeoghan. It's the first time since 2015 that CU's receivers won't be coached by Chiaverini.

McGeoghan had all spring to work with Sneed and has been impressed.

I understand why he left--he was recruited to play in a wide open offense, and never had QBs or a style that really allowed him to flourish. He was running out of time to really make a mark and showcase his talent.

You have to think he might be regreting the move now a little, though. If he'd stayed, he would have been our senior wide receiver--probably WR1--a veteran leader on the team, and one of the prime benefactors of an offense newly focused on passing again with Shapen at the helm. He probably would have put up big numbers.

Great hands. Miss him, but wish him well if this isn't where he wanted to be.

I'm seriously wondering if his decision would've been different had he known Shapen was going to be the starter(?).

....and the Bears are planning to throw more this year.

What looked like a reasoned decision now is smelling like week-old fish.

Sneed was never going to be WR1. And I don't think he's regretting his move. I think he has found himself a better place for playing time, etc.

Colorado seems like an odd choice if he left because of our offense. Last year Colorado had the 126th ranked passing offense in the country. As uninspiring as our passing offense was last year we still ranked above them at 93rd.

Sneed had 2 receptions for 17 yards last night. 12 different players had receptions. They really spread out the touches.

Especially in the second half. It was dramatic: 31-7.

I bet he's regretting leaving Baylor now. Easily would have been a starting WR if not WR1. NFL now looks like a longshot for him.
