When was the last time we only scored 3 points in a game?

Serious question. Any historian have an answer? I'm still can't wrap my head around tonight. But suddenly I have that question.

I remember a 6-3 loss to Rice in 89. Maybe a 38-3 loss to Ark in 90 maybe. Perhaps a 10-3 loss to Tech in 95 . Wasn't the final of the Alamo Bowl of 94 10-3?

Since 2010, we've scored single digits in a game only 4 times

1. 2017 vs. UT when we lost 38-7
2. 2018 vs. TCU when we lost 17-9
3. 2020 vs. Ok State when we lost 42-3
4. 2022 vs. K State when we lost 31-3 (tonight)

If last nights TCU v Texas game is any indication next week we may be asking when the last time we got shutout was. Not sure how will move the ball against the Frogs with QB play as bad as ours

Somehow I had forgotten that one. Probably because I didn't want to remember such a painful experience. What I remember most was our own fans cheering very loudly when Zeno came in. IIRC, some were booing QB Charlie Brewer. I hate to think we would be the kind of fans that treated our own players so horribly. Regardless of his mistakes & whatever he went through (multiple concussions while at Baylor, for examples), Charlie deserved our respect.

I did some research & found that the last time we scored only 3 points in a game before 2020 was the 2003 trip to Norman on November 15 when we lost 3-41. That was Guy Morris's first year. Unfortunately, we also had a few scoreless games in his tenure, including a 56-0 drubbing by Texas in Waco that same year.

2020 season is a blur. That was such a strange season, I almost treat it as if it didn't occur. But regarding the 2020 game. I remembered we were blown out. I didn't remember it being 3 pts. I also remember like half the team was out with covid and the staff was down to Aranda and like 3 GAs for that game as well. The OC was still fired after the game same with at least one offensive position coach.

There was no excuse for last night. In summary last night was worse. I mean much worse.

Agreed. If it had been GP's TCU or any Texas team, it would have been a much larger margin. Says something about Kleiman that he did NOT run up the score. Patterson did on multiple occasions against us & others. For example, their score vs Tech in 2015: 82-27.
