My prediction is this won't be so smooth for Matt.

First, recruiting won't be as easy as it was at Temple or Baylor. Nebraska simply doesn't produce enough in state talent. He's going to have to get his ass out of the office and go on the road and try to to sway players into leaving that have no natural connection to Nebraska. Even by his own admittance, he doesn't like to recruit.
He specifically mentioned he didn't like the 'show me the love' attitude that is prevalent in today's recruits.
If he doesn't like that, wait until an active parent asks him if he'll be there for more than three years.
Yeah, yeah, I get that it doesn't mean that kids will say no, but the "NLI" price goes up if you think one party is only half committed.

Second thing, and this is very important, is that there is a reason why Nebraska has more or less sucked since leaving the Big12. And it's not because of Texas recruits. It's because of Nebraska's internal politics. The Nebraska fan base itself is a modest, humble, blue collar crowd that works in cattle or corn agriculture and lives for the Saturday entertainment. But the leadership? These are the wormy, two-faced, pompass jackasses that think they are entitled to success. They wil be the people who cause problems and are going to be a thorn in Matt's side. And they will meddle in his decisions like no other crowd he's ever dealt with before.

I think Rhule knows the job he's taking in regards to recruiting. I think he'll hit it pretty hard for a couple years. Recruit similar diamonds in the rough like Pitre and Bernard and land the occasional 4* like Thornton who's looking for something different.

I do agree the leadership and BMDs could be a wake up call for him. Not something he dealt with at Temple or Baylor but he's a salesman and should buy himself a little time

Rhule hardly ever tweeted as an NFL coach….he's gotten pretty active again at Neb. Working on building the brand for recruiting I'm sure….and helping fans get to know him.
