I know all but 2 of these games are just exhibition games....some top players sit out....some teams are missing coaches...some teams aren't motivated if they have a bowl they think is beneath them...etc...but I still like seeing how the bowl conference records stack up against each other. I think there is some importance in seeing the New Big 12 compete well against these other conferences since we seem to always be battling the image problem of being viewed as an inferior conference. Last year the New B12 had the second best bowl winning percentage lagging only the B1G.

I'll list all the P5 teams that are involved in a bowl game here and update standings here in this OP as the games are played. I'm going to go ahead and add the new teams to the B12....and send OU and UT to the SEC....and put UCLA and USC in the B1G.

Regarding your comments about players sitting out, fact is, if team loses, it goes down as a loss. There is no asterisk on the record. Five years down the road no one will remember how many or who sat, but that one team won and one team lost.

Like:

Baylor won the Sugar last year beating a SEC team.

UCLA listed twice in P12.

Shouldn't USC and UCLA be in new BIG to be consistent with new B12 and new SEC

Both OU & Texas lost today. Thankfully, that impacts the new SEC & not the new Big 12.

Yeah that's the way it will go down.

B12 going 1 for bowl season is great for the Conference and Baylor! We should celebrate how bad the B12 looks. Now, if Michigan can really pound TCU, embarrassingly so, all will be right with the world and the recruits will flow to Waco. Next stop SEC for Baylor...

What a f-ing joke...

Ok....just got back from a 2 day golf trip so getting caught up in this thread on yesterday's and today's results.

Let me know if I got anything mixed up. It can get a little confusing tracking by new conference affiliations.

Rough start for the New SEC at 1-6

Why track it as new conferences. It won't be reported that way next year when they talk about bowl records. It will be based on current members and as things sit right now the big 12 will be bashed for its poor showing so far.

Simple: many of us are so over the traitors. They cannot leave quickly enough (but not without ponying up the bucks they owe us) & eager to welcome the new schools.

Put another way, the new Big 12 has a team (not named Oklahoma) in the playoffs two years in a row. One of these days it will be Baylor.

The "old B12" has had a great bowl run the last 2 seasons. Do you think that did anything to improve our reputation?

I don't.

Wish it mattered. Seems the SEC and B10 can pretty much make their own rules.

Bama will probably win
UGA will probably win out
Michigan will get to the National Championship game

That is all anyone will talk about.

Crappy reality of CFB in 2022...

So it is for the site to make people feel better while the rest of the nation will see it as I described.

Yes it did. Every time they put the graphic up early in the bowl season about how well the conferences have done they talked about how well the big 12 has done. It has helped get rid of the stereotype of the big 12 doesn't play defense or can't beat a team with a real defense or an SEC team.

I haven't noticed any shift in the national perception of the B12 in the last couple of years with the B12 bowl success.

I would say if anything our national perception as a conference has gone down in the last 2 years with the loss of our 2 blue bloods.
